The castrum is located on Cazanului Hill, at the Cetate point, 800 meters west of the present-day village of Titești, Vâlcea. It measures 56 meters by 48 meters and is built from stone bonded with mortar.
The two gates, unequal in size, are located on the shorter sides and are not flanked by towers. On the eastern side lies the porta Praetoria. Inside the castrum, the command building (principia) has been identified, with remarkably small dimensions of 5.50 m by 9.50 m.
The age of the castrum was determined through comparisons with nearby castra at Copăceni (Praetorium I), Arutela, and Rădăcinești. It is believed to have been built during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (117–138 AD).
