The highest point on Via Valahia in Arges County is Vf Strungii, located less than 2 hours of walking from the center of Nucsoara commune, heading north, following the Via Valahia trail markings. Although it has an altitude of only 1167 meters, Vf Strungii is a special place, easily accessible throughout the year, and it offers an exceptional 360-degree panorama. While it is accessible in any season, our recommendation is to visit during good weather conditions to fully enjoy the unique view.
The name of the peak is related to one of the dominant activities in the area – shepherding. Vf Strungii was the place where flocks of sheep from the Doamnei Valley and Valsan Valley would ascend in the spring towards the peaks of the Făgăraș Mountains.
Visiting Vf Strungii provides an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Carpathian Mountains, enjoy breathtaking vistas, and immerse oneself in the natural and cultural heritage of the region. It is an excellent destination for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone seeking to connect with the stunning landscapes of Romania’s mountainous terrain.
