Opened on December 1, 2023, Dracula Castle is located in Argeș County, Arefu commune, Căpățânenii Ungureni village, at 190 Main Street. It is an essential attraction on the itinerary of every tourist who wishes to explore the Transfăgărășan and discover the place where history and legend come to life.

Located at the foot of Poenari Fortress in Căpățâneni-Ungureni, this castle-museum offers a unique experience dedicated to the myth of Dracula. The castle was included in the tourist circuit in order to shed light on the mystery surrounding ruler Vlad Țepeș, also known as Dracula — was he a prince or a vampire?

Dracula Castle Transfăgărășan is a museum and tourist attraction in Romania dedicated to ruler Vlad Țepeș. It is located near Poenari Fortress and Curtea de Argeș. The castle offers historical exhibitions, guided tours, and an educational experience about the real Dracula and the medieval history of Wallachia.

Dracula Castle can be visited every day from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The entrance fee for a complete visit to all three floors is 30 lei per person. Payment can be made by cash or card.

Also known as Vlad the Impaler, he was the most feared prince of Wallachia and ruled three times: in 1448, from 1456 to 1462, and in 1476. He was a powerful and courageous leader, a military genius who fought for his country’s independence against the Ottoman Empire.
