“La Chilii” is the place with the most beautiful panoramic view of the Corbii de Piatră Monastery. You can reach this location by following Via Valahia, crossing the Doamnei River on a picturesque wooden bridge, and heading towards the hilltop opposite the Corbii de Piatră Monastery.
Although no old structures remain at “La Chilii” to support the existence of ancient monastic hermitages, legends say that in these places, monks sent from the Eastern Roman Empire by Saint Basil the Great of Cappadocia would have established their hermitages with the purpose of persuading the local population to adopt the Orthodox faith. When this mission ended, these monks departed for other locations in Arges or elsewhere.
