The Valsanului Gorge

On the Valsanului Valley, upstream of the point where Via Valahia meets the main road, you will find the Valsanului Gorge, a 15 km long reserve that can be explored by foot, bicycle, or car.

In the Valsanului Gorge, just a few kilometers upstream of the village of Bradet, you will come across several arranged mineral water springs. The chemical composition of these waters has remained unchanged for over 100 years, and you can find their chemical formula in the Bradet Resort Monograph, available on the website via-valahia.ro.

The sulfur springs in Bradet were well known and developed a hundred years ago when Bradet was recognized as a resort. Today, there are two arranged locations where you can collect water from these springs, a few kilometers upstream on the Valsanului Valley.

The village of Bradet is relatively young, with a history of “only” 250 years, being founded after the year 1750 by Romanians coming from Marginimea Sibiului. The village was established and developed around the Bradet Monastery.
