Corbi – the last Sunday of May.
The event takes place on the last Sunday of May. This event involves groups from Arges County, as well as from the counties of Valcea, Gorj, Sibiu, Olt, and the Republic of Moldova. The villages of Vasilcau and Baimaclia are sister communities with the village of Corbi. The Shepherd’s Rhapsody (initially named by the cultural inspector, Prof. Traian Ciuculescu) was organized on May 24, 1970, during the spring month when the sheep were taken up to the mountains, with the participation of artistic groups from neighboring villages such as Nucsoara, Bradulet, and Pietrosani. The Shepherd’s Rhapsody became a tradition and later was named the Original Pastoral Rhapsody, a beloved folk celebration by the locals. It is a festival for the people, dedicated to them, their traditions, folk costumes, songs, customs, the promotion of delicious local dishes, and joy.
Of all the needs of the human soul, nothing is more vital than the past, as it makes us who we are today
